胡夏(Hú xià) was born in Nanning, Guangxi, China in 1990, and made his first debut in 2010, releasing his first debut album, Hu Love Xia(胡愛夏). Before Hu Xia made his debut with his first album, he participated in 6-month-long singing competition, One Million Star(超級星光大道)held in Taipei, winning the first place in 2010. He, therefore, made a fame from the participation process.
Hu Xia’s singing style
Majority of his songs are love songs, and he has a clean, warm, and tender voice which truly expresses his emotion and messages to the audience. Along with his gentleness, humility, and purity, he is usually dubbed “Prince of Pure Spring” In addition to brilliant singing skills, he is also very good at playing the piano.
He is famous for having sung a great number of soundtracks for Mandarin-speaking TV series, movies and games. His most famous ones are Those Years (那些年) for the movie, You Are the Apple of My Eye(那些年,我們一起追的女孩) in 2011 and Don’t You Know (知否知否) for the series drama, The Story of Minglan(知否?知否?應是綠肥紅瘦) in 2018.

林俊傑(Lín Jùn jié), known as JJ Lin, born in 1981, is a Singaporean singer, songwriter, record producer, and actor. JJ launched his musical career by releasing his debut album, Music Voyager(樂行者) in 2003.
In 2004, he won Best New Artist award on 15th Golden Melody Prize Ceremony, and he got the fame by releasing the song, 江南 Jiang nanˊ,
He also won Best Mandarin Male Singer awards twice in 2014 and 2016 respectively.
JJ Lin’s music style
JJ Lin is famous for his R&B elements in his music and he can integrate Rock & Roll and Chinese traditional instruments in some of his albums. More than half of his music works are about love songs which express vividly many love stories.
In addition to this song, Twilight (不為誰而作的歌), he has another song which also has over 100 million views in Youtube – 修煉愛情(Xiū liàn ài qíng)Practice Love
This song was written for a female friend who passed away in a plane crash in 1997. In middle school, the girl loved him deeply and brought breakfast to his door every morning, but he did not accept the the girl’s wishes, and the two were not together.
Lin Junjie recalled that he read the news in the newspaper that this girl passed away in the air crash. The report published the girl’s belongings which were photos of JJ Lin, and only then did he know that she had always carried photos of JJ Lin with her. JJ Lin said frankly: “When I saw the photo, I remembered that I gave her my photos, but I didn’t expect that she would carry it all the time.” JJ Lin choked and said that he couldn’t imagine how a girl would feel when she brought breakfast to his house every day, but received the rejection from the male side in the end.
“I didn’t accept her feelings, I felt sad when I thought about it.” JJ Lin said
JJ Lin said that later at the middle school graduation ceremony, the girl’s family passed a letter to him through the teacher. When the envelope was opened, it was the photo. There were scratches on the photo, which smelled of oil and sea.
“I’ll never forget”. JJ Lin revealed that he has not told this story to others for a long time. Every time he sings this song, he will put away his emotions,
“Because I am afraid that I will not be able to sing.” JJ Lin said with shivering voices.
Brilliant Songwriter
He is well known for his songwriting and singing skills. He wrote songs for various musical artists In total, he has written over a hundred songs for other artists. His notable compositions include “Remember” (記得) for Taiwanese singer A-Mei(張惠妹), A-Do(阿杜)’s “Let Go” (放手), Harlem Yu(庾澄慶)’s “What’s Wrong With You?” (幹嘛你看不爽我), Cyndi Wang(王心凌)’s “When You” (當你), and Vivian Hsu’s “Smiling Eyes” (爱笑的眼睛).
Lastly, the Puerto Rican singer, Luis Fonsi, invited JJ Lin to reinterpret Despacito in Mandarin lyrics in 2018. Let’s check it out below! The Mandarin version is called “緩緩(Huǎn huǎn)”, which means “Slowly, Slowly”.
